The Wall Street Journal is backing Republican Sen. Rand Paul’s call for the Obama administration to account for its actions following the release of the Mueller report.

Breitbart reports the Journal’s assistant editor James Freeman observed Monday the report confirms it is former President Obama who “owes the country an explanation” for his administration’s “historic abuse of government surveillance powers.”

After Mueller’s report noted that there was no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, Paul similarly tweeted it is “time to investigate the Obama officials who concocted and spread the Russian conspiracy hoax!”

Freeman also said that Obama at the very least “owes this country is an explanation of the actions of his government in spying on a presidential campaign.”
