As hundreds of migrants attempted to rush the border over the weekend, forcing Border Patrol to deploy tear gas in order to protect themselves, mainstream media pushed on with the narrative the migrants in the caravan are mainly women and children just seeking asylum.

But even left-wing media on Monday had to accept the fact that the vast majority of the caravan is made up of men.

And they’re not looking for asylum.

NBC News’ Gadi Schwartz reported from the migrant caravan in Tijuana, Mexico saying, “From what we’ve seen, the majority are actually men, and some of these men have not articulated that need for asylum. Instead they have talked about going to the United States for a better life and to find work.”

Several other reporters at the border have found the same with several migrants telling them that they have every intention of entering the U.S. illegally and never seeking asylum.
