Former Florida governor and failed 2016 presidential candidate Jeb Bush claimed Americans pushing for immigration controls are “threatened” by their perception that the U.S. is becoming “less white.”

Breitbart reports Bush said in a recent podcast interview that immigration controls were “foolhardy beyond belief” and that illegal aliens are getting “single(d) out with vitriol” because people are “threatened by what they perceive to be a changing country that is less white.”

Bush says that has led to more emphasis on illegal immigrant crime over crime caused by American citizens.

Immigration to the U.S. from poor and dangerous countries has surged since the 1960s, but has truly skyrocketed since 2010 during the Obama administration.
