American heroes.

During the course of his career, Oscar-winning director Clint Eastwood has often celebrated American heroes. The 2014 drama American Sniper celebrated the career of the late veteran Chris Kyle while his 2016 drama Sully focused on the heroic actions Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger.

For his next movie, Eastwood will be exploring the story of the three Americans whostopped a terrorist attack on a European train and he's cast the three real-life patriots to play themselves in the film.

Variety.com reported on the casting decision. "Clint Eastwood has tapped Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos, and Spencer Stone to play themselves in his next movie, 'The 15:17 to Paris,'" the paper noted. The article went on to state that there was a "wide-ranging search for the actors who would portray the three Americans... but at the eleventh hour [the studio and Eastwood] have decided to have Sadler, Skarlatos and Stone portray themselves."

The film is based on the book by the three heroes.

If this new film lives up to Eastwood's latest pictures about heroes, it could be a big hit with both critics and audiences alike. Both American Sniper and Sully were box office successes for the director who has won two Academy Awards for best director.
